Jack Russell Technologies

Letter From Our Founder

Hello!

Thank you for visiting our site. My name is Stephen Lacy, founder and owner of Jack Russell Technologies.

I was born and raised in Connecticut, but in 1988, at the age of 19, I moved to Brooklyn Heights in New York City. While I always enjoyed using and playing around with computers as a kid, I really started my career in computers beginning in 1992, when I began taking courses for computer hardware repair. In 1995, I was working in NY, building computers from base components (motherboards, RAM chips, hard drives, etc...) as was done back in those days. The global publishing corporation for which I was doing this work shipped computers to its overseas branches. Part of my job included providing the status of these orders on the phone, which actually took quite a bit of time.

As a consequence, in 1997, as the Internet boom was in its early stages, I thought, "Why can't we build some sort of web site that can both allow people to view their orders online and save me a lot of time?" And that marked the beginning of my software career, as I ventured into software development. Several months later, after a lot of work and studying, we had a working web application providing order status and shipment details. Little did I know how that first web application would set a path for my future into software development. Shortly after that, I was transferred to my organization's software development department and the rest is history ...

After 40 years between Connecticut and New York, my wife and I decided to enjoy the warmer weather, so we relocated to Florida in 2011. So here we are, along with our little Jack Russell Terrier named Peanut.

Why did I bore you with all these biographical details? Well, hopefully, now that you know a little bit about who's behind "Jack Russell Technologies", you'll feel a little more comfortable knowing about our company's past and present. In any case, at least you got to see how cute our Jack Russell Terrier is in the pictures :)   And yes, our name is based on our fondness for Jack Russell Terriers. They are extremely smart, tenacious and loyal ... something that we hope you will feel about our company if we have the opportunity to develop software for you!

Sincerely,

Stephen Lacy
